    Security Risk Assessment

A security assessment should leave you knowing what needs attention, why it matters and what to do first. Bureau Securitas reviews the threats, vulnerabilities and existing safeguards around your people, premises and operations, then turns the findings into a practical improvement plan.

    When an assessment helps

An office move, a new operating location, a change in threat or a critical infrastructure project can expose weaknesses that routine checks miss. Boards and security managers also commission assessments when they need an independent view of existing arrangements before committing further resources.

The starting point is the operation you need to protect. We agree the sites, activities, people and dependencies in scope, and the decisions the assessment must support.

    What we examine

The review can cover perimeter and building security, access control, visitor and contractor arrangements, movement of personnel, incident reporting and emergency preparedness. For critical infrastructure, we consider the consequences of disruption and the dependencies between physical protection, personnel and operational systems.

Interviews, document review and site inspection establish how controls work in practice. Threats and vulnerabilities are considered together, so recommendations reflect exposure and operational consequences rather than a generic checklist.

    From findings to action

Recommendations distinguish immediate actions from improvements that require investment or organisational change. Each should explain the weakness addressed and the operational implication. We agree the reporting format in advance so the findings can support management decisions and follow-up work.

A physical security assessment does not automatically include penetration testing of IT or industrial control systems. Any technical testing requires its own agreed scope, authorisation and specialist delivery arrangements.

    What the engagement can deliver

The proposal confirms the outputs for your assignment. Depending on scope, these can include:

    • An agreed assessment scope and record of assumptions
    • A review of existing safeguards and material vulnerabilities
    • Prioritised recommendations and an implementation roadmap
    • A management briefing on findings and next steps

    Questions about security risk assessment

Can you assess more than one site?

Yes. A multi-site review can use a common assessment framework while recognising differences in local threats, operations and existing controls. Coverage and travel are agreed before work begins.

Will the report tell us what to do first?

The purpose is to prioritise action. We distinguish significant exposures from lower-priority improvements and explain the basis for the recommendations.

Does this replace a specialist cyber audit?

No. Physical and operational security can be assessed alongside cyber concerns, but technical system testing is separately scoped and authorised.

Start with the question you need answered

Tell us the situation, location and decision you need to make. We will discuss a suitable scope, delivery arrangements and next steps before any work is agreed.
