    Bureau Securitas

    Corporate Investigations

When a commercial concern becomes an allegation of fraud, misconduct or concealed interests, the first task is to establish what can be supported by evidence. Bureau Securitas coordinates corporate investigations through its joint venture and specialist partners, with a defined question, proportionate enquiries and clear reporting.

Illustrative review of business records during a corporate investigation.

Establish the question before collecting more data

An investigation may begin with an unexplained payment, a suspected conflict of interest, a whistleblower report or a concern about a business partner. We review the available information, identify immediate evidence-preservation needs and agree the decisions the investigation should support.

An initial assessment can help distinguish what is known from what is suspected and identify the most useful lines of enquiry. It also gives the client a basis for deciding whether further work is justified.

Follow the people, companies and transactions

Depending on scope, the work may combine corporate records, public-source research, relationship mapping, examination of financial information and appropriate local enquiries. Complex structures are broken down to show relevant entities, connected persons and commercial relationships.

Digital forensics, specialist financial analysis and interviews can be added where appropriate and authorised. The method should follow the question rather than assume that every case needs every investigative tool.

    Report what the evidence supports

The agreed output explains findings, sources, material gaps and competing explanations. Allegations and unverified reports are identified as such. A staged engagement allows findings to be reviewed before further enquiries are commissioned.

For contentious matters, we coordinate scope and reporting requirements with the client and its advisers. Investigation support does not itself determine liability, establish guilt or guarantee a particular legal outcome.

    What the engagement can deliver

The proposal confirms the outputs for your assignment. Depending on scope, these can include:

    • An initial case assessment and investigation plan
    • A sourced account of relevant facts and relationships
    • A record of unresolved questions and information gaps
    • A findings report and options for further enquiry

    Questions about corporate investigations

Do we need proof of fraud before approaching you?

No. An initial assessment can examine a concern and identify whether there is a reasonable basis for further work. The assignment should distinguish suspicion from established fact.

    Can investigations cross borders?

Cross-border enquiries can be coordinated through the joint venture and specialist network. Methods, record access and local requirements are considered for each jurisdiction.

Can you work with our lawyers?

Yes. Scope, reporting and evidence-handling arrangements can be agreed with the client and its advisers. Any claim to legal privilege is a matter for those advisers.
