Bureau Securitas
Background Screening & Vetting
Background screening helps establish whether the information provided about a person is accurate and whether relevant concerns need further examination. Bureau Securitas coordinates checks around a defined role, engagement or programme, with scope and reporting agreed before enquiries begin.

Checks that answer a specific question
A senior appointment, a sensitive contractor role or an international recruitment process may need different checks. We establish the purpose, jurisdictions, subject identifiers and permissions needed before selecting the research.
The scope can include identity information, employment and educational credentials, professional standing and relevant public-record or adverse-media research. Criminal or regulatory information is considered only where access and use are appropriate for the assignment.
Cross-border screening
International checks require care with name variations, record coverage, language and the reliability of sources. Through our joint venture and specialist network, we can scope enquiries across jurisdictions and explain where information is unavailable or cannot be independently confirmed.
A discrepancy is a reason to examine the evidence, not automatically an adverse conclusion. Reports distinguish verified facts, unresolved inconsistencies and the limitations of the checks undertaken.
Screening and enhanced due diligence
Routine verification is different from an investigation into complex commercial interests or unexplained wealth. Where the question goes beyond credentials, we can scope enhanced due diligence as a separate assignment.
Screening supports the authorised decision-maker; it does not determine suitability on its own. Visa processing, immigration advice and recruitment placement are separate services and are not included simply because a background report is commissioned.
What the engagement can deliver
The proposal confirms the outputs for your assignment. Depending on scope, these can include:
- An agreed check schedule, jurisdictions and subject requirements
- Verification results with relevant source references
- A record of discrepancies and coverage limitations
- A report for review by the authorised decision-maker
Questions about background screening & vetting
Can you verify overseas qualifications and employment?
These checks can be included where reliable records or appropriate verification channels are available. Jurisdictional and practical limitations are explained in the scope.
Do you guarantee a complete criminal history?
No. Access, availability and permitted use vary by jurisdiction. The report describes the checks actually undertaken and their limitations.
Does screening decide whether we should employ someone?
No. It provides relevant information for an authorised decision-maker to consider alongside other evidence and the applicable process.
